Norwegian for Anderson House.

Anders Hus is a place where work is made and shared.

Art, writing, teaching, and collaborative projects live here, alongside objects for the home and small ongoing experiments in how to live with attention. Some of the work is solitary. Some of it is made with others. All of it is shaped by care and time.

The house takes its name from a Scandinavian understanding of home as both shelter and workspace. A place where making and living are not separate.

I was raised in the Midwest in close proximity to my Norwegian Grandparents and for the second half of my life have lived and worked in Oregon. Landscape, the natural world, and inherited ways of seeing continue to shape how I notice and make. I am an art teacher by trade, and painter and writer by practice.

This site holds finished work, works in progress, and traces of ongoing projects. Including paintings, writing, teaching resources, collaborations, and small offerings for everyday life.

There is no fixed path through the house. You're welcome to move slowly, return often, or simply look around.
